Lake Poelela Resort is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Poelela, facing due west and the sunset. Lake Poelela is 76 square kilometres of crystal clear, slightly saline water, separated from the Indian Ocean by a 2.5 km stretch of sand dunes and indigenous vegetation.
The resort consists of three self-catering luxury beachfront lodges. Two of the lodges each sleep eight people in four double rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and the third lodge sleeps six people in three double en-suite rooms. Each lodge also features a spacious living room, fully equipped kitchen, and a private barbecue area in a beautifully landscaped area.
The resort offers a beautiful open-air restaurant where light lunch and dinner with set menus are available upon request. Activities at the resort or available nearby include, kayaking and line fishing, walking trails around the lake, excellent bird watching, scuba diving to encounter the manta ray or the whale-shark, horse riding on the dunes and around the many smaller lakes, and painting workshops. The resort is a no wake, no engine noise zone for the discerning visitor, ensuring peace and tranquility.
