Lilacs Cottage is our special beautifully decorated French Country style open-plan apartment cottage, 1 km from the beach. By blending rustic charm and elegant sophistication, Lilacs cottage was created.
Queen bedroom with en-suite bathroom. 100% Cotton bedding, fluffy blankets, mattress protector and towels.
Full country style kitchen and a dining-room which seats 4. View of Table Mountain.
Living-room area with large flat screen TV & DVD. Plenty of leather rugs, cushions and throws. 2 bunk beds.
Private Mediterranean style balcony with a view of Table Mountain and the smell of fresh sea air. The balcony has a seating area, bar counter, bar stools, hurricane lamps, automated fairy-lights which come on in the garden area and up the staircase as the sun goes down. Plenty of cushions and throws.
This cottage is accessible by a staircase. Lush enclosed little garden space at the bottom of the staircase. Parking up on paved allocated area outside the cottage.

In all cottages:
Welcome packs: coffee, tea, sugar, creamer, body wash, bubble bath, hand wash, loo paper, bin bags & fresh flowers.
Provided: Luxury cotton linen, towels, make-up face cloths, (no beach towels, please bring your own) heater, fan, iron, ironing board, clothes drying rack, dish cloths, cleaning detergents, hair dryer.
The cottages kitchens are equipped with an oven, stove, fridge, freezer, toaster, filter coffee machine, kettle, microwave, egg boiler, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, glassware etc.
Weekly housekeeping for stays from 7 days. Self-Catering / Self-check in accommodation in beautiful Blouberg, Cape Town.
Parking is outside the cottage up on allocated paved parking areas.
To ensure our guests safety and peace of mind their is 24 hour detection-notification security camera surveillance on all outside property perimeters, monitored off-site by Innoza Group security and supported by Star Alarms armed response.
The cottages are very private and secure, with all the modern amenities to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

The fresh flowers by

It's a lovely place to stay in, reception was very friendly. My first complain is the refrigerator, it form a thick layer of ice in the compartment without making the food or drinks cold.
Secondly We feel the the place need to be clean thoroughly, the one door of the wardrope was ful of marks and really dirty.
Lastly the double bed need urgently new linen, pillows included.

Establishments response:

Before guests arrive, the cottages are cleaned thoroughly and clean crisp bedding and towels are supplied, as well as coffee, tea, sugar, rusks and bathroom necessities. The pillows and duvets are checked and replaced regularly. Because the accommodation is ?self-catering? cleaning detergents and equipment is supplied within each cottage. This includes dish wash liquid, handy andy, glass cleaner, clothes, sponges, gloves, bucket, mop, broom, scoop, bin bags etc.
For longer stays, which this was, we offer clean linen, towels and fresh flowers every 4 days.
Any other cleaning service would be at an extra cost.

The guest declined the offer for fresh flowers and linen, but asked for fresh towels only. Therefore the linen was not replaced and would with time, as it is being used, need cleaning.

There was a request after the guests checked in, that we take a look at the fridge, as it did not seem cold enough. I had our maintenance gentleman have a look and everything inside the fridge was cold and it was working properly. The items of food and drink just needed time to cool.

The wardrobe doors are melamine. The few little marks on the one door are actually small scratches which cannot be ?cleaned off'.

We have a high standard of cleanliness at West Beach Cottages. Each and every guest can be rest-asssured that on arrival the cottages are spotless and the linen and towels supplied are fresh and clean. Self-catering stays are not the same as hotel stays whereby rooms are cleaned and serviced daily.

For this reason hotels charge a certain rate to cover the extra services. However private self-catering is up to the guests to ensure that the establishment within which they are dwelling/renting, is kept clean and neat during their stay. A cleaning service can be supplied but at an extra cost.
*As mentioned above, every 4 days we do offer to replace linen, towels and supply fresh flowers. It is up to the guests if they would like to accept this offer.
