Hidden away on the North western side of the Okavango Delta, Mopiri Camp offers its guests the perfect water camp experience. The camp is situated approximately 290 km from Maun, and 118 km from Shakawe. Mopiri means ?little island' in the local Bayei language.
The ten spacious en-suite tents are set on the banks of Weboro Lagoon offering panoramic views. Long winding board walks between the main area and the rooms offer guests privacy and the opportunity to stretch their legs and explore the island. The rooms are light and spacious and all have a separate bathroom with a large rain shower, twin sinks and W.C. The bathrooms are adjoined to the rooms by a short corridor.
The main area consists of a large dining room, with a separate lounge area. There is a large deck overlooking the lagoon offering hidden away seating areas and a fire pit perfect for stargazing. The swimming pool is positioned with views over the flood plain.
There is a boma in the middle of the island where traditional evenings can be held and guests can enjoy the sounds of the local choir and have a chance to taste the local cuisine.
Meals will be served in a variety of alfresco locations around the islands and the camp. With one of the owners being a renowned chef, Mopiri aims to offer their guests a unique dining experience, with the chance to try some local delicacies when available.
Mopiri offers a huge variety of activities to suit all including short mokoro trips around the surrounding islands of camp, bush walks, fishing trips, day trips, and bird walks.
