Olea Africana Lodge is set in a beautiful garden environment in the Karatu-Rhotia area of Tanzania, with easy access to the main Ngorongoro road. Named after the venerable African olive tree, found in the centre of the lodge's garden, Olea Africana welcomes discerning guests to the community of Karatu, in the heart of the northern safari circuit of Tanzania.
This small and intimate owner-built and managed lodge has views to the rolling farmlands and Ngorongoro Forest. Olea African Lodge was created by prominent Karatu residents Lazaro and Theresea, who look forward to welcoming you to their home village.
Accommodation is offered in ten spacious and comfortable rooms, that each contain an en-suite bathroom, a fireplace, and a private veranda with views to the farmland and forest. The rooms each contain either a king-size bed, twin single beds, or three single beds. There is also a welcoming lounge and dining room for guests use.
Olea Africana Lodge is ideally situated near many safari attractions on the northern circuit of Tanzania. From the lodge it's possible to visit Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. A day trip to Lake Eyasi to visit some of the interesting tribes of Tanzania is also possible and Serengeti is a few hours' drive on your onward journey.
