As the name suggests, Onrus Garden Cottage and Flat offers a relaxing getaway in the tranquil village of Onrus. It is a great option for couples or small families visiting this coastal part of the Western Cape.

This seaside property has one charming cottage nestled within the lush garden. It has one bedroom and a private bathroom. The living space has two twin beds, a lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. The veranda has a braai area and offers views of the garden.

There is also a little flat on the property. It has an open-plan concept with an outside patio. The sleeping area has a double bed and there is also an en-suite bathroom. The living space has a TV with DStv access as well as a kitchenette.

Guests can spend their days exploring this picturesque area. Davie's natural tidal pool is just a short distance away and is a great spot to enjoy a swim or a picnic. Visitors could also take a drive along the coast and visit popular towns such as Hermanus and Sandbaai.

Enjoyed our stay by

We enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. For us the standard of the bed and mattress is always an important feature, and we found this was fantastic. The TV is very old and might need to be replaced as we had some trouble with it and the DSTV decoder. The owner however went out of her way to resolve this. The outside wash-up for crockery is inconvenient, especially when it was raining. But overall we enjoyed our stay here.

We had a lovely wintery weekend stay at the Onrus Garden Cottage.

Cornelia was very helpful and welcoming as we arrived.

She's put together a perfect little space to relax and unwind; private and comfy.



The exceptional silence and secluded cottage by

The cottage is absolutely perfect if you're looking fir a quick getaway. The kitchenette is a little limited as there is no stove, so ideally you would need to source your meals from restaurants or take-aways. But, for two people, the space is plenty, and it never felt as if we were attached to the main house at all. The tranquility of the sound of the waves and birds chirping in the garden was fantastic. Definitely recommend it.
