Petersfield Mountain Cottages is delightful self-catering accommodation, less than a two-hour drive from Cape Town in the golden valley of Citrusdal. Petersfield is an export citrus and rooibos tea mountain estate, overlooking the majestic Cederberg Mountain Range and the lush orchards of the fertile valley.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our accommodation and the beauty of the surrounding countryside. We offer four fully equipped self-catering cottages, situated more than 1 km apart in a 2000 hectare mountain wilderness area. Each cottage has a distinct character and ambiance, all with unique settings, private plunge pools and privacy.
Several hiking, mountain biking and 4x4 trails in the pristine fynbos mountain provide an opportunity to enjoy the unique ecological splendour of the Western Cape.
Small game abounds around De Kom Cottage and during the late afternoons guests can watch as eagles hunt for basking dassies on the cliffs in front of the cottage. There is a secluded mountain dam approximately 300 m from the cottage as well.

Die Veepos Cottage is the latest and most spacious addition to Petersfield, offering a luxurious country experience for larger groups or families. In a beautiful setting, nestled against a magnificent rock outcrop, it is completely private with beautiful views over the Olifants River Valley to the north.
Stonehaven Cottage is set high on the mountainside surrounded by fynbos and sandstone formations and boasts spectacular views over the valleys and onto the impressive Cederberg Mountains. It was designed to accommodate one couple only. The accent is on romance and total privacy and the setting would appeal to honeymooners and couples seeking a chic bush getaway.
