Pumula, which translates to 'rest and relaxation' from traditional Zulu, offers comfortable accommodation in a quiet and safe street in Windhoek. Your hosts, Christine and Ian Mitchell, will warmly welcome you into their little piece of oasis.

We offer six little flats and two standard double rooms. The units are fully functional for self-catering and are serviced every day. Each unit is equipped with a private entrance, a small kitchenette, a private bathroom, a seating area on the patio and selected DStv channels. All bedding and towels are provided.

Parking for your vehicle is off-street and secure, right in front of your unit. Laundry services are available as an added option and by prior arrangement only. There is a lovely swimming pool and a built-in braai for great entertainment. If you don't feel like cooking yourself, we can cater for any meals by prior arrangement only.

Absolutely amazing by

Our stay at Pumula was really incredible. From when we walked in we felt at home. Our unit was spacious, clean, modern and had everything that you could expect from an exceptional self-catering unit. Christine put the icing on the cake. She was professional, friendly and really knowledgeable about the area. I would HIGHLY recommend Pumula to anybody that is passing through Windhoek.

Extremely disappointed by

Air-conditioned in room not working and the room is extremely hot. When my husband asked for a portable aircon he was told he can take it to the room himself. Later it rained and the thatched roof was leaking. We had to move the bed to the middle of the room to avoid the drops. Room is extremely dated, the bed is so small we had to put the mattress on the floor for me husband to be able to sleep. Then the electricity went off at about 20:15 ( fishpond pump was still working) No candels in the room and no one from the guesthouse came out to give the guest any. At 23:00 there was a neighbor's dog that won't stop barcking until about 01:30. At 05:30 when we left the electricity was still off. This after I have paid them in full 5 months before even coming here. My star rating will be in minus.

Security, cleanliness, comfort by

The place is very clean and quiet. We felt very safe and well accomodated. It is well maintained.

Good clean room by

The accommodation was good. Only issue is the parking is very tight for all those big 4x4's. They should open the bottom gate.
