Road's End is perfect if you feel you really need to get away from city life. Take time out on your own private nature farm to remember what the Milky Way looks like.

Two cabins set next to a seasonal stream with spectacular mountain views, sleep six in total. The first cabin has four single beds and as well as the other two. Equipped with a kitchen area with all the basics for self-catering. Bathing and washing up is right outside and a short walk brings you to dry-toilet facilities set slightly apart from the main campsite.

A cement pool offers a place to cool off on hot days, with summer days being very hot and winter nights very cold, so pack and prepare. The site has a latte enclosed braai area from where the view is on the distant Riviersonderend mountain peaks turning deep pinks and blues as you enjoy sundowners and a magical sunset. Wildlife consists of zebra and black wildebeest and smaller antelope-like rhebok and grysbok. Of course some cold-blooded ones like snakes and scorpions, but they won't bother you if you don't bother then.

The farm might be pet-friendly, it all depends on the pet. If your pet will run for the hills chasing ground squirrels never to be seen again, it may not be the place for your furry friend. He or she will become the prey of a caracal. If your pet will laze about enjoying the smell of your braai, bring them along. No matter how many people you are, your group will have exclusive use of the farm and you won't have to share any facilities. Activities include swimming, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching and relaxing.

Included are:

- Open space as far as the eye can see; peace, silence, fresh air, and bright stars.
- Family, friends, children, groups & pet-friendly.
- Cement dam for swimming.
- Braai area with grid, wood, and utensils.
- Gas bottle, plate, and kettle for boiling water/heating pots.
- Basic kitchen needs for self-catering.
- Bedding and towels.
- Biodegradable dishwashing and bath soaps (we are pro-natural and anti-chemical).
- Tank with borehole water for washing needs.
- 25l filtered drinking water.
- Composting toilet.
- Big trash can (please no littering; as it will affect the wildlife).
- Cellphone signal with a short hike about 200m up from the cabins (the hill opposite the cabins will also provide a
signal, but the Signal Hill behind the cabin is less strenuous).

Not Included are:

- Electricity or anything that needs electricity.
- No refrigeration (bring your own or keep it in a coolbox).
- No smoking inside cabins (please remember, no cigarette stumps or littering the ground).

Closest nearby towns or attractions are Robertson (30 km), Mcgregor (20km), Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve (15km) and Van Loveren Wines (20km). It takes half an hour to travel the last 6km on the twin-track farm road, so plan your arrival accordingly (just saying, not the place to be trying to find in the dark...no welcoming or guiding lights). A 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended, essential after rain and definitely a high clearance vehicle at all times.
