Shark und Shoal Gästehaus

Our guest house is situated on the KwaZulu-Natal coast, just 60 kilometres south of Durban. We are in the lazy town of Umkomaas, which derives its name from the Umkomazi River. The Shark and Shaol has a magnificent view over the river and was at one time large and deep enough to allow whale cows to swim upriver to calve

The six rooms offered are en-suite with modern bathroom facilities. Rooms either have king-size, queen-size or single beds to suit your requirements. Each room is fitted with an air-conditioner, a flat screen TV with DStv, Wi-Fi, a bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryers. For extra security and comfort all doors and windows have secure shutters. All rooms have their own private patio areas and entrances.

Shark and Shoal is ideally situated with access to several outdoor activities, ranging from decadently relaxing beach lounging to ultra-active kayak fishing. Being on the coast, all the outdoor activities are weather dependent but the south coast boasts with a beautiful climate. Our most beautiful months tend to be April, May and June but the rest of the year is still very pleasant. Remember, February tends to be very hot and humid for those who like to sweat those kilos off.
