Nestled in the Waterberg Mountains, Shondoro Mountain Retreat offers three luxury stone and thatch cottages 50 km from Modimolle. The retreat offers self-catering accommodation, mountain biking trails on farm roads and natural paths and is ideal for families, couples and groups.

The three thatch-roof cottages all have en-suite bedrooms and outdoor living areas. Each cottage is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a kitchen with a fridge, oven, complementary tea and coffee tray and a private boma. There is a communal swimming pool for the warm summer days. We can host small weddings on request.

Activities at the retreat include bird watching, game viewing, hiking and mountain biking in this peaceful environment.

We had such a lovely time at Shondoro, thanks again to our hosts Yvette and Rory who went out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible! You have an absolutely amazing place - stunning nature and most beautiful and neat accommodation, the stuff dreams are made of... We could not have asked for a more perfect place to enjoy with our family. Will be back for some serious birding and tree spotting next time!

Nice and relaxing by

The resort is very nice and relaxing. Only think we didn't like was the shower head, which makes it difficult for you to shower. But besides that we loved the place and will be going back with friends soon.

What a wonderful get away ... just what we needed to get away from stresses of the city. The accommodation is neat, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the freedom to just walk, mountain bike and relax without too many other people around. Rory and Yvette are wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back.
