Starfish Cottage

Starfish Cottage offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a lovely holiday home directly above Shaka's Rock tidal pools and centrally between Thompson's Bay and Salt Rock's beaches. Guests can admire 180-degree panoramic sea views, elevated 300 meters from the beach and faces the breakers at Thompsons Bay beach.

Guests have the option of choosing either the CHALET or the COTTAGE for accommodation, both are separate homes situated in the perimeter security wall complex, with the same ocean views, the cottage is four metres above the chalet and 10 metres further back. The cottage has a separate driveway entrance. The cottage is smaller than the chalet, yet cosy and tranquil, while the chalet has a large living room and entertainment areas. Groups or families can have the opportunity of booking both the CHALET & COTTAGE, a total of up to 16 People.

This cottage consists of a main bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom/ocean facing walk-in shower, with two more rooms with queen size beds, one of which can convert into two or three single beds, upon request. All rooms have en-suite walk-in showers and there is a separate loo.

The living area is open plan with the main veranda/patio leading through folding sliding doors into a 7 seater dining table area, open plan kitchen, lounge with TV, direct onto an ocean-facing patio through French doors. Both veranda/patios have braai areas. The open plan lounge has a full DStv bouquet, uncapped Wi-Fi and Hi-Fi. The main veranda has relaxing comfort suite and coffee table, a serving countertop with fridge, bar and gas braai and the ocean-facing patio has a coal fire braai, serving counter and eight-seater table.

Small, well-mannered dogs are allowed, provided it is arranged in advance. The location is within a 5-minute walk to the Chakas Rock tidal pools and beach, three restaurants, liquor store and ATM. Ballito's town centre is a 3.5-kilometres drive and King Shaka International Airport is 22.4 kilometres away.
