The decor inside is very cosy and comfortable, but still very stylish. The food was unbelievable, and the hosts Johan and Michael were fantastic. It is truly a 5-star experience! The food was exquisite, a well presented and scrumptuous four course meal (request the onion tartlet with phyllo pastry - an absolute winner). Kashan is perfect for an intimate stay with a homely feeling and beautiful surroundings at the foot of Magaliesburg - in the heart of a heritage sight. A highly recommended weekend away. There is about a kilometer which has a lot of stones and rocks on it. This makes getting to the lodge quite difficult.
The actual lodge is great, the staff are friendly and the food is awesome!
The hiking trails are fund and quite the workout!

What an epic weekend! by Sithabile Mngadi 11 June 2018 My husband and I stayed at Steynshoop from Friday till Sunday, we were looking for a little quiet get-away and boy did we get more than we bargained for! This place is amazing, cozy, quiet, classy and yet rustic and the serenity and the surroundings are absolutely amazing! Don't get get me started on the staff, they are exceptional and Pieter, oh Pieter bless this man, he's got a heart of Gold!! The chef only provides 5 star meals and breakfast! I have to warm people if you go to Steynshoop you might not want to leave! A very special thanks to Pieter, God bless you abundantly!! We are definitely going back! Paulina is a Master chef and dinner was an event every evening.
Maybe just one recommendation- mix up the breakfasts a little. Maybe introduce omelettes, French toast etc.

The menu can be extended. Also the TV should be bigger for the rate the one is paying per room. The furniture also needs to be updated as it is a bit worn.
