Sunset Lodge is located on the banks of the St Lucia Estuary which is a World Heritage Site. We are on the main road which is called McKenzie Street, but in a quieter part of town and we are within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants and amenities.
We have four four-sleeper units, one five-sleeper unit and one two-sleeper. They are luxurious, air-conditioned log cabins which are fully serviced. Each unit has two bedrooms, a bathroom, an open-plan kitchen, a lounge and a private deck outside where guests can relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility while watching the magnificent African sunset. The resident louries, hornbills, hippos and crocodiles can often be seen. We also have a crystal clear pool for all the sun lovers to soak up the hot African rays while enjoying the picturesque view of the estuary and landscape.
St Lucia was declared a World Heritage Site in December 1999. It is without a doubt one of the world's greatest destinations as it's situated within a nature reserve and is surrounded by five distinct ecosystems; one of them being Lake St Lucia; the largest estuarine lake system in Africa which is home to over 800 hippos and 1500 Nile crocodiles. It is a bird lover's paradise with over 520 species identified in and around the area.
