SWALLOW'S NEST BEWERTUNGEN (25 %) Quick response to our initial enquiry by Robert Troughton 04 September 2017 Relatively clean (except for bathroom). Towels lovely white & very clean. No dishcloth available for us to do dishes. Lights very dim. Bedside lamp in back room did not work. I'm sorry but definitely not value for money. We've recently stayed in over 15 establishments around the country, and Swallow's Nest didn't match up to most! Old and run down, we did not stay by Carol Nicholson 24 September 2018 It was dark, dingy and extremely run down, it was so bad we did not stay. The photos on the web-site must be very old and do not reflect reality. Cracked mirror on the wall, cheap nasty furniture, peeling paint - generally old and run down etc. We complained to the owner and she offered us alternate accommodation, but it turned out to be a single bedroom with two double beds in it. We hired a self contained two bedroom apartment, so offering a single bedroom with two beds was not an acceptable alternative. We paid full price upfront in good faith so I asked Mercia for 50% of the cost to be returned, but she refused. Had we only paid the required 50% upfront we would not have paid the balance on seeing the state of the place, so I think it would have been fair for her to return the 50% to us, but she refused. We ended up hiring a place elsewhere. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please note that I have lodged a complaint with Safarinow to which I have had no response as yet. With regards to the star rating I would give it zero if the option existed. SWALLOW'S NEST LAGE
