This sheltered oasis is clustered around a waterhole and is set in the private Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Sweetwaters Serena Camp offers a charming blend of 'under canvas' ambiance and safari luxury.
The camp features 39 luxury en-suite tents, 14 of which are on raised platforms. Each tent has a furnished, private veranda or balcony overlooking the waterhole. The tents are furnished with king-size or twin beds and mosquito nets; extra beds and cots can also be provided on request. Hot water bottles for those cold nights, as well as bathrobes, slippers, mineral water and toiletries are supplied. The tents are serviced and complimentary tea and coffee are available throughout the day. Hot and cold water is available, as well as electricity and on-call medical services.
The camp has a supervised swimming pool, but it is not suitable for small children without parental supervision. Beauty and massage services are on offer, as well as a babysitting service. The laundry and shoe-shining service are added extras.
A buffet-style breakfast and lunch is served and special diets like vegetarian, Kosher and gluten-free are catered for. A children's menu and early dinner can also be arranged on request. A full English breakfast, as well as other European options, are available, while lunch typically includes meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian options. Dinner comprises a salad buffet, soup, an entrée, pudding, cheese and biscuits and tea or coffee.
Sweetwaters has a light and airy conference room with all the necessary facilities. All that is needed, from a marriage certificate to cake and champagne, will be arranged and the camp offers unique accommodation packages for family and friends.
Sweetwaters is host to the Big 5 and the conservancy has a higher wildlife-to-area ratio than any other Kenyan national park. The conservancy also boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, hosts the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, and shelters large numbers of rare and endangered species. Guests can go on day and night game drives, guided bird walks, morning lion tracking or visit the Ereri Cultural Village.
The camp can be reached by road or air and transfers can be provided, but please provide arrival time in advance.
