Tailormade Safaris- Matusadonha offers mobile tented accommodation for a minimum of two guests to a maximum of 12 guests. Tailormade Safaris is a small owner-run company that prides itself on Tented Adventures that create tailor-made, once-in-a-lifetime experiences for our guests.

Matusadonha National Park is located on the shores of Lake Kariba. This park boasts some of the best walking areas in Southern Africa and with very good chances of tracking elephants, lion and the endangered Black rhino.

Spending a lot of time on foot, guests have the opportunity of enjoying this highly thrilling experience of tracking wildlife in an area with the Big 5. On our Tented Adventures along the shores of Lake Kariba, we have a boat in order to be able to enjoy wildlife coming to drink surrounded by dead trees that stand like friendly ghosts characterising the Matusadonha shoreline scenery.

Accommodation at our tented camp in Matusadonha is in 3 x 3 m dome tents, with en-suite shower and toilet. Our beds are wide and comfortable because most of our guests come for extended periods of time to the bush. For example, it is not unusual for our safaris to remain up to eight or ten nights, at one or two locations.

Camp is lit at night by paraffin lanterns. Food is cooked in camp over a campfire and fresh bread baked. Meat, fruit and vegetables are supplied fresh from reliable suppliers and stored in a refrigerator and when required ,the camp will be resupplied during the safari.

Mineral water is supplied for drinking and when ice is available, it is made from safe filtered water. To round up the experience, we also believe in good food and good wines when guests finally come back to camp after having followed an elephant bull for several hours on foot or a pack of wild dogs hunting.

As a way to ensure continuity in interpretation of the wildlife experience and natural surroundings on guests' journey, we offer the services of private professional guides on safari. Working together with the local guides, camp management and staff, a private guide will make sure that all guests' needs are met and special interests pursued as far as possible.

Our latest development at Tailormade Safaris is the introduction of tours and transfers around Zimbabwe. We have introduced a small fleet of vehicles that can carry from two to 15 guests for access around all cities in the country and the remote bush locations. All our transfer vehicles have internal air-conditioning and a trailer for luggage, leaving our guests with a bit more spacious comfort.
