Termite Hills FarmOtjiwarongo, Otjozondjupa, Namibia Country House ab R 460 (Familieneinheiten ab R 3,680) | R 460 |
Werner and Lotti Dedig, the third generation in Namibia, would like to welcome you at their little bed and breakfast set on a 8,000-hectare cattle farm.
The original name of the farm is ?Miershoop? which means "termite hills" in Afrikaans. Termite Hills is situated north of Windhoek, between Okahandja and Otjiwarongo, merely a 2.5-hour drive from Windhoek on the B1, in the central part of Namibia.
The farmstead is surrounded by bush savannah, the Omatako Mountains, the Etjo Mountain and the Waterberg Mountain, and is an ideal stopover between Windhoek and Etosha National Park, or coming from Etosha, it is an ideal stop before flying back home.
Werner and Lotti maintain a fitting balance between running a very small guest house and operating their cattle farm and game farm. In the peaceful farm atmosphere, guests can enjoy German-Namibian hospitality, a high standard of personal service, and delicious home-cooked meals. An insight into Namibian farm life, as well as the difficulties in cattle farming in this bushy area of the country can also be grasped from the German, English, and Afrikaans speaking hosts.
Accommodation is offered in three simple but comfortable farm-style twin-bedded rooms, each featuring an en-suite shower and flush toilet, as well as a small sitting area and a dressing table. Towels and guest soaps are also provided. Although the rooms do not have fans or air-conditioning, the windows and front door are covered with a gauze screen, and outside each room on the veranda is a sitting area. Termite Hills is family orientated and children are very welcome.
