The Old Farmhouse Meru

The Old Farmhouse Meru is a charming four bedroom bed and breakfast located in the town of Meru at the eastern slopes of Mount Kenya, and offering a peaceful, serene and private oasis. This traditional stone-built home is very modern but maintains an authentic character, incorporating vintage interiors and classic farmhouse touches.

The Old Farmhouse Meru is just 60 minutes drive from Nanyiki and approximately an hour and ten minutes from Nanyuki Airstrip. The Isiolo Airstrip is a just a 45 minute drive away, and there are major national game parks nearby. The Old Farmhouse Meru is well located for day trips to Lewa, Meru National Park, and Mount Kenya.

The house is set in lush mature grounds and beautifully furnished. The house offers a dining area, bar area, a comfortable lounge area with fireplace, downstairs toilet and a fully working kitchen should you require self-catering. There are separate staff quarters as we provide a cook who manage the house and gardens. Breakfast is included in your night's stay but other meals can be arranged on request.

The house can accommodate one large family, but can also be let separately. All four rooms have comfortable beds and are tastefully furnished with intimate décor. There is one master double room en suite, one double room in the upstairs gallery and two single rooms with shared interconnected bathroom, ideal for children. Both bathrooms have hot water showers. We aim is to offer our guests maximum relaxation with comfortable beds, hot showers, and a lovely relaxing garden where guests can sit and enjoy themselves.
