The Thorntree Country House is situated on the route to the Cango Caves, the Swartberg Pass and the circle route to Prince Albert via Meiringspoort. It is also within easy reach of the Cango Ostrich Farm and Cango Wildlife Ranch.

The Thorntree Country House is a family-run business where Louis and Tanja Lategan are looking forward to making your stay in the Klein Karoo an unforgettable experience. We offer a private and secure romantic retreat. Visitors can enjoy unspoilt views of the picturesque Schoemanshoek Valley from the saltwater swimming pool and relax in the peaceful, natural surroundings.

A Wonderful Stay by

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely country house. Staff and owners were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The host/owner, Louis, took the time to get to know us and also gave us valuable suggestions on what to do and see.

Excellent stay by

We were welcomed very friendly and professional. Everything was uncomplicated and done with a smile. The rooms are clean, cosy and well equipped. Even though our stay was not planned in advance (so the B&B had no lead time) we enjoyed our stay and will when we are in that area again definitely try to stay here again.

Beautiful scenery by

Lovely environment. We made extensive use of the sparkling pools. The rooms could have been a bit cleaner (mostly dust). Great for the price range.



We enjoyed our stay very much!  Friendly people and very nice surroundings.
