Umhlanga Rocks is the place to be seen in KwaZulu-Natal and we, at Umhlanga Self-catering Guest House, offer the discerning traveller clean and comfortable self-catering accommodation, whether it be for business, your weekend breakaway or family vacation, at affordable rates in an upmarket suburb. Our service is friendly and customer satisfaction is very important to us. So come stay with us to experience our warm hospitality and an exquisite destination.
We are family friendly and our speciality is children. We love having children around and offer a large swimming pool, trampoline, giant jungle gym, slides and swings just for them. Our inflatables, crawling castle and jumping castle are put out for the very little ones, so parents can relax in their rooms while the kids play in the large garden.
We are situated a mere ten minutes' drive from the Durban beachfront, ICC, Moses Mabhida Stadium, Kingspark, Kingsmead and the Durban Exhibition Centre, and only three minutes' drive to the warm and magnificent beaches, the Gateway Theatre of Shopping, and now also close to the new King Shaka International Airport. Umhlanga is fast becoming the holiday playground north of Durban, with the likes of Prince Harry, Wesley Snipes and many celebrities gracing our shores.
Accommodation is offered in three units, all with their own entrances which are separate from the main house, ensuring guests' privacy. All rooms are cosy and include ceiling fans, bedside lamps, an iron, ironing board and toaster. All linen is supplied, with extra blankets stored in the cupboard. Toiletries and towels are to be supplied by guests, and hairdryers are available on request. Safe and secure parking is provided on the property and we also offer complimentary servicing of the units every three days, with a change of bedding after seven days.
Opposite the property is the Hawaan Forest Nature Reserve, a bird lover's paradise with guided walks offered by the Wildlife and Bird Societies. From the golden Blue Flag beaches, warm Indian Ocean, world-famous Zululand game reserves, historical Anglo-Zulu battlefields, Valley of a Thousand Hills and St Lucia World Heritage Site, to vibrant nightlife, restaurants, clubs and casinos, there is no better destination.
