Weltevreden Game Lodge is situated on the Modder River, 25 km north of Bloemfontein, with an endless supply of picturesque views and wildlife. This is the perfect location for corporate functions and team-building, or simply a peaceful breakaway with family and friends from the daily hustle and bustle.

The tasteful, luxury chalets and cabanas can accommodate up to 33 guests, and there is also a sundowner deck and a boma and lapa area. Our well-equipped conference facility can accommodate up to 50 delegates, and we can also cater for intimate weddings of up to 50 guests as well as anniversary and birthday celebrations.

Activities at Weltevreden Game Lodge include quad biking, fishing, game drives, 4x4 trails, hiking trails, team-building and bird-watching. Picnics can be enjoyed at the viewpoint on the hill, or relax with a sundowner on the river deck.

A lovely place to spend the night in peace next to a fire and cheetahs as your neighbours.

Enjoyed our stay. Liesl went out her way to make us comfortable and feel at home.

Lovely relaxing stay by

We were a group of 3 families who stayed for a long weekend in the 3 chalets. Margie and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed braaiing in the boma at night (which we had all to ourselves), going for a quad bike game drive and cycling all over the reserve between the different game species, including 3 giraffe up close! The one less positive thing was the highway being relatively close, you could hear traffic (especially trucks) going by at night, disturbing the tranquility at night. The units were very comfortable however with aircon (which dimmed the sound of the highway), comfortable beds and view over the river. The fridge in the chalets is very small for 4 people, and the units could be better stocked for self-catering (bowls for salad/snacks, bottle opener, can opener etc.). Overall, a pleasant relaxing experience.

This is a beautiful place to stay for a weekend. Reception is warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to comfort us. Very good value for money.
