Whale Coast Lodge is located just 5 minutes' walk from the village centre or down to the coast in the charming sea side town of Hermanus.

The Lodge is a luxury, child friendly home where children have space to play. It is a self-catering establishment with four en-suite rooms, fully-equipped communal kitchen and a cosy fire place with flat screen TV in the lounge. The Lodge has a barbeque area outside for the guests own use. The Lodge is serviced every day and clean towels and linen are provided. A camping cot is available on request for babies under age 3.

If you do not feel like sharing the lodge facilities with other guests, book one of our fully-equipped cottages or The Whale Coast Manor for your own privacy. We have recently renovated and added these three cottages and The Manor sleeps maximum of 10 people to our establishment.

Wood, firelighters and matches are available for purchase on the premises. We do have free Wi-Fi.

What a pleasant surprise by

My friend and I overnighted at the Whale Coast Lodge and loved it so much that we wished that we had stayed a few more nights! A wonderful, friendly welcome awaited us, with not one thing to complain about! Would recommend it any day!

Excellent stay by

The friendliest staff, especially Taki. She was helpful, friendly and very accommodating. The bedding was crisp and ample, there was a mounted heater in both the bathroom and bedroom and the bath could be run consecutively without the hot water getting depleted. There was full DStv available, and an equipped kitchen and living room with a fireplace available to us. We will definitely visit again! Affordable without cutting back on quality. 10/10!

Cottage A by

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whale Coast Lodge.  Cheryl was very friendly, helpful and obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to make our stay comfortable. A bit of sprucing up needs to be done but she assured us this is going to be happening this year. We will definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely rest.

a little disappointed by

Place is mostly wonderful, but some disappointments. The coffee machine and kettle in the room comes with 1 coffee pod (for a room sleeping two), and no milk or tea (although those might be in the kitchen somewhere). shared kitchen is pretty much like a dorm kitchen, cupboards aren't labelled so you spend most of your time in there digging through cupboards to find what you are looking for. Also seems to be a lot of left behind food in the cupboards. The towels are old and thin. The parking out front isn't demarcated into bays, so if you arrive last you may not get place to park depending how other guests have parked. The hot tub was faulty which was the most disappointing as this was the reason we booked the room.
