De Aar Guest House

De Aar, Northern Cape, South Africa
Guest House from R 240
R 240

De Aar is the second most important railway junction in South Africa. In De Aar, the lines from the Eastern and Western Cape, the Northern Provinces, Zimbabwe and Namibia meet. The town has 110 km of track and a high traffic rate of trains every day.

We were the first guest house established in De Aar, formally known as Die Gastehuis. De Aar Guest House has 10 bedroom with either double beds or twin beds and en-suite bathrooms.

If you are interested in rock art, excellent examples of Khoisan rock engravings can be viewed on the farms Brandfontein and Damfontein. Take a leisurely stroll through The Garden of Remembrance which honours the British soldiers killed during the South African Anglo-Boer War. Also worth a visit is Olive Schreiner, the famous South African author and feminist who wrote Women and Labour, whose house in Grundlingh has been converted into a museum and restaurant.

DE AAR GUEST HOUSE REVIEWS (90%)
Very warm and welcoming by

The owners of the De Aar Guest House were superb. Very warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse for a lovely stay in De Aar.

My stay at the De Aar Guest House was a very good one.
The room we stated in was homely and comfortable and our host Isabel was gracious and kind.
If I have reason to go to De Aar again, I will gladly stay there again.
