There are two cottages with lounges and patios to supplement the accommodation. Guests experience total privacy since the hosts reside in the Edwardian homestead of the De Doornkraal Estate. A swimming pool is located in the garden for the guests to use. The intimate De Wingerdt restaurant has a splendid wine list and serves cuisine of the region. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is ample secure parking for guests.

De Doornkraal is eco-friendly; solar-heated water is utilized for the en-suite bathrooms. For organizations that need a break from city life, De Doornkraal offers conferencing in the renovated, air-conditioned former freemasons lodge, Lodge Frere, built in 1888, that forms part of the complex. Leisure activities include golf, birdwatching, sightseeing, picnics, fishing, fynbos hiking trails, and horse trails.
