Self-catering from R 475 (family units from R 950)
R 475

Die Kloof is a wonderful self-catering retreat from the hurry of city life for family or friends. Die Kloofhuis is a carefully restored historic building with foot-thick walls, thatch roofs and traditional stable doors. Beautiful old oak trees line a veranda and outside fireplace with magnificent views down the kloof and across the farm and valley toward the town of Ceres and the Hex River Mountains in the distance.

The three-bedroom cottage features a fully equipped farm kitchen as well as its expansion with modern conveniences. Accommodation is offered in one double and two twin rooms, while the lounge and kitchen have been furnished in antique farm-style furniture and come with luxurious linen and soft furnishings.

The veranda boasts an eight-seater table as well as plenty of leisure seating around the fireplace for long evenings under the stars with special people and a view out to the mountains of the kloof.

Cosy place to get away by

Die Kloof is a very comfortable place to relax and get away. It has a very well-stocked kitchen which makes cooking a pleasure. It is also very tastefully decorated. The only disadvantage was no inside shower. In the winter, it makes it a challenge for those who do not prefer bathtubs. I wish we could have had more time to explore the area.

Amazing family weekend getaway by

We had the most amazing time. Sitting outside by the fireplace looking out at the most amazing view. The house was clean and very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place

Very enjoyable stay. If you want a farm type holiday yet close enough to visit surrounding areas. This is well worth the stay. If like me you are tall be prepared to duck all the time you are in the house. Must have been tiny people in SA 150 plus years ago. However, I knew this was an authentic cape Dutch house so had no problem. Can't say I will build my own house with ceilings so low. But it only added to the stay. The only negative and this was surprising. Is the noise from the main road on the other side of the mountain. However if you put up with that or ignore the sound All was wonderful. That said I could stay there again

It was OK
The pictures on the web are deceptive in that there is not a large expanse of field in front of the cottage as per pic and it also has a fence running through so not accessible for a walk .
Would have been nice to have electric blankets or hot water bottles provided .we were v cold .. Free standing heater inadequate
The hand shower on the telephone holder leaks whilst the bath taps are running so floor gets drenched wet .
The kitchen was well equipped and lovely tea cups !
With thanks
