Doornkop Fish and Wildlife Reserve is an ideal getaway for the whole family. Situated in the Komati Valley, malaria-free Doornkop is set in a private reserve of rolling hills and grassland savannah. The Komati River and Swartwaterspruit wind their way through the reserve and fishing is available for both yellow fish and trout.
Doornkop is fully game fenced and is currently stocked with 15 species of non-dangerous large mammals, as well as 203 species of bird. Game viewing can be enjoyed on foot, mountain bike, horseback, or open top vehicles. Attractions include interesting ruins, waterfalls and forests in the valley.
