The owners/managers are qualified game/nature guides, and offer guided tours into Addo Elephant National Park, to our guests.
Situated on the banks of the Sundays River, our magnificent decks have sweeping river views, a perfect backdrop to your big five game viewing. Classified as one of the cleanest rivers in the Eastern Cape, swimming is safe, canoes are offered to our guests, as is fishing tackle for the guest who wants an all round ?river experience?. A ferry operates on the river, taking guests to the river mouth.
Opposite the lodge is the famous Alexandria dune fields : the longest widest coastal dunes in the southern hemisphere, full of history and interesting facts. Use the canoes to access these dunes. Guests always enjoy the dune hikes. Perhaps you want to know more about the history, geology, flora and fauna of these amazing dunes. For a nominal fee a boat can collect you at the lodge, drop you off at your starting point, and with a GPS. system and detailed instructions do a ?self guided tour? to the river mouth, where you will again be picked up by boat and brought back to the lodge. (Choose your degree of difficulty). Minimum of 4 persons or be prepared to pay the minimum fee.
Use the lodge's cycles or drive to where the Sundays River flows into Algoa Bay. Take a couple of drinks and watch the sun go down over the dune fields, or walk along this beautiful beach. The only people you may see are the occasional fishermen.
Let the Lodge owners assist you in organising your stay: Booking you onto game drives at private game reserves, elephant back safaris, sea cruises on Algoa Bay (perhaps see whales).
