At Elephant Sands Lodge guests can enjoy viewing elephants as they drink from the waterhole right in front of the lodge or from our swimming pool. We also have a wide variety of other wildlife that can be viewed, from lions to giraffe and buffalo.

ELEPHANT SANDS LODGE REVIEWS (76 %) Amazing! by Mary-jane Gate, South Africa 30 May 2012 The incredible service of Ben and his team were only superseeded by the amazing elephant sightings RIGHT in front of the restuarant and our chalet! The meals were delicious! What an awesome find! Service was terrible! SNQA - Merissa by Linda Schoeman, South Africa 09 July 2012 The accommodation was 'rustic' as stated - nothing more. Terrible lumpy mattresses. Nothing happened on time - we were told that the 'donkey' would be lit at 5:30 in the morning so that we could shower early - ice cold water greeted us! Dinner was good - but served much later than indicated. We confirmed that breakfast would be served at 7:00 as we wanted to get on the road early - when we arrived at 7:10 for breakfast the following morning there was no sign of breakfast! We were eventually served breakfast much later. When I settled my drinks bill from the previous evening I was surprised at the total. I was told that I would have to wait for the print out as the generator wasn't on. When I eventually received the print out, I saw that we were charged for drinks that we did not order! When I pointed this out to the young man at reception, he wasn't impressed and made me feel like an idiot. He said he would refund me, but this never happened. The uncouth language coming from the said young man's table and his friends the previous night forced us to retreat to our chalet. The only thing worthwhile was the elephants. We really enjoyed watching them. Such a pity that the staff were so unfriendly and aloof - the place has so much potential. The rates are not in line with the service received. Will definitely try other accommodation in Nata next time. Great elephant viewing by Barbara Nelson 30 October 2017 Septic tank oozed a nasty smell in both units we had. Elephants by Joachim L�ffel 11 January 2018 As the name of the lodge says: Elephants roam right through the camp. Amazing to see these majestic animals coming to the waterhole in the center of the camp. Offered bush walk and evening game drive very informative. Outdoor ablutions by Marlize Joubert 08 April 2018 Outdoor outdoor ablusions need some attention. We went a bad time of the year. Too much Rain, thus no game/elephants for 2 days. Overall good experience. Restuarant food is good value for money. Saw Abdim's stork for the first time by Steve Benbow 18 April 2018 We were generally disappointed with Elephant Sands primarily due to the noise. The resort was pretty packed on the Monday that we arrived and due to the numbers of guests, we found it noisy from both revellers in the bar and also general activity around the site. Only one elephant arrived at the water hole on that day which could have been due to the noise or that there was plenty of water around elsewhere. On our second day, the resort was much quieter, however there was still noise from the bar until around 11pm. One could also hear traffic on the nearby A33 throughout the night.
Apart from the noise issue, the tent we stayed in was clean and tidy, the food was good and the guided walk was excellent. TO SEE THE ELEPANTS AT THE WATER PANS by Gerrie Snyman 02 May 2018 WE TOOK A DRIVE ON THE PROPERTY TO OTHER WATER PANS ;AND SAW ELAPHANTS SWIM
