Elma's Self-catering is situated in Hartbees River and by irrigation water from the Rooiberg Dam. This land boasts a fascination of its own, the tedium of brown sand being broken only by black dolerite boulders.

We offer five self-catering units that can accommodate two guests each. The units are equipped with DStv, fans, heaters and en-suite bathrooms. There are meals available on request as well as braai facilities.

The fantastic wide-open spaces of Verneukpan are an ideal hotspot for parasailing enthusiasts. For those who prefer an archaeological adventure, there are San trails which will lead you over several hills, in the footsteps of the San, to spots which the San chose as canvases for their art. One can truly see what they saw and experience what they did. There is also an old library building one can explore, which dates to 1897 and was used as a library until 1977. It was declared a national monument in 1978.

The Quiver Tree Forest is an ideal hiking destination. Hike through this forest boasting over 4000 to 5000 trees and marvel at their beauty. Kenhardt may be small but certainly not insignificant. The beauty and splendour of this area make it a favourable holiday destination for many.

Lovely Stay by

Thank you Elma for a lovely stay. I slept comfortably in the bed. The room was nice and clean, and roomy. The hostess was friendly and helpful, and the environment was nice and quiet. Would definitely consider staying there again.



Met Kenhardt as 'n klein dorpie op die padkaart, het ons nie baie verwag nie, maar net 'n oornag plekkie gesoek. Ons was aangenaam verras. Elma's self-Catering is defnitief 'n plek om aan te klop vir 'n oornag of 2 / 3. Skoon, Warm geriewe, Ruimte en baie vriendelike ontvangs. Sal beslis weer daar draai wanneer in daardie rigting beweeg. Baie dankie!



Room is clean and very comfortable. Well worth considering if in the area. Host is very friendly and hospitable. Had dinner and breakfast, meals are very good and highly recommended.
