Emfuleni - Place by the River, is situated deep in the Drakensberg, in the centre of the Cathkin Valley, surrounded by majestic peaks such as Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak, Monks Cowl and the Sterkhorn. This is the place, by the river "Emfuleni". The Cottage accommodates six guests in three double bedrooms. The living room is in an open-plan layout and includes a lounge, dining room and kitchen and a lovely extension onto the deck. At Emfuleni you could never be bored. Whatever your taste, you will be well catered for. For those who just wish to relax, the peace and serenity of the "Berg" has been made especially for you. For the serious backpacker there are numerous one, two and three day hikes starting in the area. For the casual hiker there are two, four, and six hour hikes starting from Emfuleni.

I enjoyed every minute of my stay. Emflueni is in the perfect position , in the middle of all the action and close to the shops and surrounding resorts and restaurants. Although, it would have been that much better to have the full dstv package with all the channels to choose from after a long day of outings. Other than that it was great! Will definitely be back. Although we did not meet the owner, we were in touch by phone and he was very prompt, friendly and helpful. Everything looked recently refurbished yet homely. Not yet the kitchen, but there was a good stove/oven, good size fridge/freezer, plenty of crockery etc. and plenty work space. The children said it is "die beste huisie" and that says it a lot. We had everything we need. We had a lovely walk, the Grotto hike and it was so good to clear our heads in the beautiful surroundings of Emfuleni and spend quality time with the children.
