Situated near the beach in the Grotto Bay nature reserve, the house looks out over the Atlantic ocean and the wild and soul-stirring coastal landscape. You can walk for miles along the shell-strewn beaches, or through the fragrant fynbos; dream as you watch the sunset, or meditate by rocky coves where the waves roll over the stones like a high wind through mountain pines. And then come back, having set free at last something a little wild within yourself, to the warmth and sanctuary of Claudia's magical home. And then the adventure really begins.

In every room, on nearly every surface, there is something fascinating and beautiful waiting to be discovered - prayer flags from Tibet, silks from India, cushions from Egypt, home-made drums and rain-sticks, treasures and trinkets and stories from all over the world. Vibrant purples, burgundys and rich earth tones mix beautifully with bright quirky tiles and mirrored mosaics, and the bathrooms and bedrooms in particular are an artistic and visual delight. A night spent under tented drapes in the fairy-lighted alcove bed will be one of the best sleeps of your life. Like Claudia herself, who created it all herself, this house is as warm and nurturing as it is interesting and eclectic. It's a house so completely true to itself, so filled with personality and love of life, that it invites you too to kick off your shoes and all your inhibitions and be your own best self.
