Flycatcher CastleGraskop, Mpumalanga, South Africa Guest House from R 1,350 | R 1,350 |
Flycatcher Castle is the ideal fantasy escape within the Lowveld, perched on the edge of the Drakensburg escarpment, centrally situated in Mpumalanga. It is close to the beautiful wonders of God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Blyde River Canyon, Three Rondawels and the Pinnacle.
The accommodation consists of six individually decorated suites named after classical composers. The castle perfectly complements its surroundings and reflects an awareness and love of nature, with beautiful views across the Mantitshi wetland and river. It mirrors the peacefulness, as the rooms don't have TVs but rather echo the sounds of nature.
The castle features sculptures including bronzes of eagles, antilopes, spiritual themes and the human body. A great variety of antique furniture, ornaments and art within the castle have been collected throughout Southern Africa and other continents, creating a grand masterpiece.
A little eden is found within the garden, with a colony of dwarf chameleons, frogs and a variety of birds. An abundance of wild flowers can be found within a radius of 200 meters from the castle, ideal for the avid photographer.
