Four Twenty South Beach Cottages

Escape to the embrace of a gentler era at Four Twenty South, comprising six Colonial cottages surrounded by three acres of beautiful tropical gardens. The houses are all a stone's throw away from the dazzling white beach and turquoise lagoon of Kenya's Indian Ocean, protected by the living coral reef which stretches from the Red Sea to Mozambique.

The cottages range from two to five bedrooms, and each comes with a personal chef and maid who are professionals and whose aim is to make your stay as relaxing as possible. They will work around you, taking care of cooking, cleaning and laundry, and are even happy to shop for you - although with fresh seafood, fruit and vegetables being sold door to door by local traders, you may not find that such a chore.

The cottages are fully equipped, down to beach towels and a starter pack of basic provisions such as loo paper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, spices, tea, coffee and sugar are in the house for your convenience. Overhead and standing fans and a sea breeze will cool guests down.

The sandy lagoon is suitable for swimming at any time and is so secluded that you can find yourself the only one on it at certain times of the day, however you are within walking distance of the tourist facilities of Diani Beach. Playing cards, chess, backgammon, scrabble and the local game of Bao are all provided. A local mobile telephone and a 3G dongle for Internet connection are also available on request.

We are happy to advise on excursions and safaris or to arrange transport or taxis from the airport to collect you when you arrive. In addition, we can send you a shopping list and stock the house with provisions before you come and arrange to have a meal prepared for you in advance.
