Sheltered by a huge oak tree, Francolin Cottage provides an unforgettable getaway for couples or small groups.
Enjoy authentic village life in Greyton, sometimes described as the fusion of Stellenbosch and the Cotswolds in England; you may even meet the free-roaming donkeys and horses in the village. Situated in the ?old' part of Greyton, Francolin Cottage is surrounded by typical village cottages and is one of four, where the Scholtz River runs through the garden. Stroll down the narrow gravel roads in the neighbourhood and absorb the peace and nostalgia of this beautifully preserved village.
Four guests can be accommodated with ease in rooms that have been carefully furnished to create a relaxing and cosy ambience. All rooms offer lovely views of the surroundings. The cottage is serviced daily and is fully equipped. The main bedroom, which is downstairs, contains a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and heated towel rails. A heater, hot water bottle and spare blankets are provided for cold winter nights. The loft room is a light and airy room with twin beds, a sitting area and a bathroom with a bath and separate toilet. It also has heaters, a fan and views in all directions.
The sitting room includes a TV and DVD, and the comfortable sleeper couch can be used by children or adults who prefer to sleep downstairs. There is also a gas fireplace and heaters for the cold winter nights. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area features two small fridges, a freezer, microwave-and-convection-oven, gas cooking hob, kettle and toaster. It is stocked with cooking and dining crockery and cutlery, as well as pots and pans. Starter sachets of tea, coffee, sugar and basic condiments are also provided.
Relax in the garden, cool off in the plunge pool, curl up with a book or enjoy one of the board games provided. Indulge in a home-cooked meal ,which can be delivered, a braai or a meal at one of the charming local restaurants, then have a peaceful night's sleep far from the stress of city living.
Horse riding, hiking and fishing can all be done in and around Greyton, and fFor golf enthusiasts, there is a nine-hole course in Caledon.
