Gateway Backpackers in Ermelo is conveniently situated en route to Kruger National Park from KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, Swaziland and Southern Mozambique. The backpackers has an African theme, where guests can sit around the fire, drink a glass of wine, make new friends and recount the adventures that they have been on. We also offer free WiFi, as well as secure overnight parking.

Hot water showers and a large fully equipped kitchen is available to our visitors. Spend some time under the enclosed veranda, relax in front of the TV or grab a book from our shelf and catch up on some reading. Shoot some pool or take on your friends in a game of table soccer.

We arrived at Ermelo very late on Thursday, all our phone batteries were dead so we couldn't communicate with them, we got really lost and ended up having to stop and charge the phone just to call for directions, I think the directions can be better explained as the link doesn't open on mobile phone browsers. However, even though it was way past midnight the manager was so kind to direct us, wait for us patiently and being so kind. If you are going past Ermelo i'd advice you stay over here, the place was neat, the water was hot, the manager is an amazing man who was really kind to myself and my girlfriend.
