GeoLodge Jacana Safari Lodge

Set on the edge of Uganda's largest crater lake, the Nyamusingire Crater Lake, this tree-house lodge grew out of the Maramagambo Forest, peacefully at one with nature. The delicate use of rock, poles, wood, rope, organic furniture and rich textures blend perfectly with the smells, sights and sounds of this tropical hardwood forest. A cracking fireplace combined with a magical atmosphere creates an unforgettable experience.

Much effort and imagination went into the creation of Jacana Safari Lodge, which comes as no surprise when you consider its prime location within the national park and the distinctive and unique design by its creator, Managing Director, Mr. Zahid Alam. Opened in 1998, the winning combination of the beauty of Queen Elizabeth National Park rich in biodiversity with the Jacana Safari Lodge's delicate style and attention to comfort provides one of the best accommodation facilities in the area.

The lodge can accommodate 24 people per night, with ten independent and spacious cabins and one two-bedroom family cottage. Each cabin is surrounded and curtained by the embrace of the dense foliage of Maramagambo Forest. All the chalets assure a peaceful and restorative stay with a unique theme of their own. The rooms are spacious and designed to please the eye and provide maximum comfort. The rooms have en-suite washrooms with continuous hot water for showers, heated by gas and firewood, tastefully furnished and have an enclosed veranda with a large panoramic windows offering picture-perfect views of Lake Nyamusingire. The perfect place to enjoy a chilled sundowner or early morning tea and coffee.

Jacana Safari Lodge has a swimming pool, a sauna, two bars, a restaurant, kayaks, a fireplace, nature walks, bat caves, birdwatching trails, wildlife drives, boat trips, and it is located on the butterfly migration route. The Captain's Table is a pontoon that serves as a floating restaurant for meals, a unique way to enjoy your meal.
