Gerda's Place is situated in St Lucia in KwaZulu-Natal, within driving distance of the Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve and within walking distance of several restaurants, shops and fruit markets in town. Nearby activities include boat cruises, hiking, Zulu village tours, fishing, diving, and whale watching.

St Lucia Wetlands Park was declared a World Heritage site in 1999 at an unveiling ceremony where Nelson Mandela was guest of honour. The park was proclaimed a World Heritage site because of the huge biodiversity occurring in a relatively small area. Animals in the park include elephants, leopard, black and white rhino, buffalo, and in the ocean, whales, dolphins, and marine turtles including the leatherback and loggerhead turtle.

Gerda's Place is a very private self catering flat with its own entrance and can accommodate up to four guests. The unit features DStv, air-conditioning free wi-fi and barbecue facilities. Your vehicle can be safely parked under shade net covering behind lock up gates. The unit has a fully equipped kitchen with stove, micro wave oven, fridge and deep freeze for your catch. Full bathroom with bath and shower. Fish cleaning facilities.

Pleasant by

Gerda meet us on arrival. She was pleasant and informed us about what ST Lucia had to offer. She stays on the same premise however never interprets her guests and gives you the privacy you need. We had a very neat flat and a maid was present every day. Everything was lovely and we will definitely go back should we visit ST LUCIA again.

Wow! What a lovely lady. Friendly and helpful. Accomodation perfect! Quiet and very private yet walking distance from main street. St Lucia is such an awesome place. We will definitely be back and we will definately stay at Gerda's Place again.

July fishing holiday by

Gerda is incredibly welcoming and accommodating at her establishment. It is well services and kitted out with all the necessities when it comes fishing and for general holiday purposes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back soon.

Cosy stay at sea by

We enjoyed our temporary but cosy home away from home. The facility offered all the basic necessities. The garden was charming. The peaceful area is a plus point, especially when you need it to get two toddlers down for sleep. We felt right at home since we arrived.

Well equipped for self catering and very secure. A good base to use for your day trips. Gerda very pleasant to deal with and gave us very handy tips to travel in the area.
