Gidichaa Camp

Gidichaa Camp is a small exclusive wilderness tented camp located in NG 3 conservation area in NW Botswana. The camp is in a natural depression which contains several pans attracting a myriad of birds and animals to the location. Even in the dry season when pans naturally dry up, we pump water into a pan closest to the camp, so guests can see the animals and birds from the comfort of the tents or relaxation areas. Game drives are not necessary in the winter season, as you could sit at the pool or up in the tower and watch the animals coming to drink, the only water available in this vast area.

The tents are "Mara" style safari tents with bathrooms en-suite. There are queen and twin beds available. The camp can accommodate six people, very comfortably, in three tents. The camp is situated far from civilization and is very peaceful and ideal to "digitally detox" as there is no cell service and limited internet. The camp has a small library so guests can read, relax in the pool or lounge on the pool deck. We cater to carnivores, vegetarians and vegans with a little notice as provisioning in this location can be a little challenging.

Elephants are regular visitors, wild dogs are often seen close up. We have zebras, kudu, oryx, and smaller antelope species that visit the waterhole. Occasionally wildebeest or roan grace us with their presence. Lucky viewers may also see caracal, brown hyena, honey badgers, bat-eared fox and occasionally leopard at the pan. At night the spring hares, hares, duiker and porcupine come into camp to eat the leftover bird feed and drink out of the birdbath.

Gidichaa used to be an old hunting camp that has been renovated to be very comfortable, strives to produce great wholesome meals and provide luxury for less.
