The guest house offers a particularly welcoming atmosphere and is incomparably charming. The management and hosts will be on hand to assist with your questions and help you to organize tours and planning your day. Guests are invited to spend some quiet time in the comfortable lounge equipped with a terrace, wood fire place, and an honesty bar. In addition, the first floor provides a majestic sea and mountain view across the bay - the perfect hideaway to indulge in sun worshiping life. The swimming pool and its surrounding tropical garden provides a wonderful place to cool down, while for non "water babies", the sun loungers offer the perfect spot to relax in style. A Jacuzzi in a thatch roofed house can be used on request as well as it takes time to heat up, Our thatch roofed braai place is available on request.

South Africa is home to some of the worlds finest beaches. Within walking or driving distance, kilometres of beach invite you to relax, sail, surf or for the adventurous, shark cage dive. From end of June till mid of July we celebrate "GORDONSBAY WINTER WONDERLAND", a festival of lights and fantasy. From August through to beginning of November the Southern Right whale makes its grand entrance into False Bay, providing holidaymakers and locals the chance to view these quite magnificent creatures from the coastline itself. Penguin colonies, dolphins, seals can be watched and photographed around and watch out for the baboons.

One can also easily reach several must-see attractions such as the well-known wine region of Somerset-West, Stellenbosch, Constantia and Franschhoek, Paarl and Worcester region, Table Mountain National Park, the Cape of Good Hope; Cape Town city centre. The Gordons Bay beaches, restaurants, and bars are only a few minutes' away and the seaside village also boasts two working harbours, home to a number of fine yachts and sailing crafts. For golfing enthusiasts, the Helderberg-/Cape region provides a number of world-class courses.

Gordon's Bay is only 35 minutes from Cape Town International Airport and is perfectly situated to explore the surrounding mountains and breath taking scenery of a region described by Sir Francis Drake as "the fairest Cape of them all".

Very comfortable by

I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and warm enough in the cool weather. All the furnishings and fittings are of a high standard and the mattress is not too soft nor too firm. There are toiletries in the bathroom, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities with real milk. And the towels are nice and thick. I will definitely recommend this guest house to my colleagues.

Disappointing by

Small room, no real guest lounge as such and owner derided our planned activities which, when we did them, proved stunning. Not a good ad for Capetown.

Establishment's response

We are surprised at this review ? it was almost dusk when they arrived and they left at about 9.30 a.m. following breakfast.

On arrival they said they were happy with the room which does have a separate full bathroom and separate wc.

They told us they were going on to Fishhoek and Simons Town prior to going on to stay in Cape Town ? at no time did we deride their plans. We merely stated that they could do the whole Cape Point and Table Mountain sightseeing tour on the same day advising that it was a good time to be going up Table Mountain as the weather was favourable.

With regard to inadequate guest lounge ? we do have two lounges. An open lounge upstairs with views across False Bay to Table Mountain and our main television lounge and seating area on the ground floor which one has to walk through to go to the dining room.

We have a fantastic reputation with our guests for giving helpful, quality advice.
