Groenfontein Guest Farm is a self-catering farm house, near Vrede, in the picturesque landscape of the North-Eastern Free State. It is the perfect escape from the busy city life and within close proximity of all the major cities in Gauteng. Come and relax in a peaceful and quiet country atmosphere and enjoy nature. Leisure activities include: Hiking, Bass-fishing, mountain biking, bird watching. You are also more than welcome to bring your own horses. The house caters for 9 guests and consists of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open plan kitchen. Two bedrooms have double beds, the second two has two single beds and the fifth has one single bed. The bathrooms are standalone and one has a bath, toilet and basin and the other bathroom has a shower and basin, and a separate toilet adjacent. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped for self- catering with a gas fridge, gas oven as well as a AGA coal oven. The house is 100% off the grid. There is a fire pit outside where you can enjoy the beautiful stars at night. Only 1km from the farm house is a view point where you can have a picnic and enjoy the beautiful farm. It is the best place to make some memories.

Beautiful restored old farmhouse, comfortable very neat end everything you need. Crispy linen and soft towels good mattresses. We enjoyed sunrise and late afternoon on the 'stoep'. We had long discussions around the big table and enjoyed playing board games. We could braai out of the wind and later moved to comfortable sitting room . Beautiful photos of farm life decorate the walls. Early morning I went for a long walk all by myself, saw a rabbit, wind in poplar trees mixed with bird songs... if you need a place to come to rest.., to get away from noise and the city...this is the place to be!
