Henk van Rooyen is a lovely resort situated in the wildlife sanctuary, Marloth Park. The resort offers guests the choice of staying in one of the comfortable chalets or rondavels, or make use of the caravan stands situated on the river bank. The chalets and rondawels are furnished with double or single beds and can sleep four to six people. Each of the 10 caravan stands is roofed and each has a private braai area. The upgraded ablution facilities and the scullery room are shared between the stands, chalets and rondavels and consist of showers only. The resort also has a lovely pool. Situated close to Komatipoort, Marloth forms part of the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park. Residents of Marloth are not allowed to fence their properties, creating unique experiences like waking up to find a bushbuck or a hippo in front of your caravan or chalet. Elephants are also nearby as they love to drink from and play in the Crocodile River and lions have been seen from time to time. With excellent facilities provided, Henk van Rooyen aims to make guests' stay as exciting or relaxing as possible, whichever is preferred.

HENK VAN ROOYEN PARK REVIEWS (82 %) Pleasantly surprised by Samantha Hogewoning, South Africa 10 April 2012 We had a wonderful stay at Henk van Rooyen Park. The chalet was lovely and well equipped. The view was stunning. We definitely want to come back again! Lovely and clean by Bulla Joubert, South Africa 30 December 2012 Lovely clean park our stay was very nice the rondavel in excellent condition. Thanks to Lana for her friendly approach on arrival we enjoyed our stay.
One recommendation is aircondition in the rondavels as it is very hot during summer. Good by Lucy Bopape 17 January 2018 Relaxing, and enjoying nature The riverview and drinking time of the wildlife by Nicolene Jacobs 17 January 2018 The chalets are very neat and comfortable. We stayed at no 1 and unfortunately the air-conditioning were not working. In tje extremely hot weather it is very unpleasant. Great accommodation for a great price by Georgina Wilson 03 April 2018 The chalets overlook the Crocodile River and are clean and functional. The pool was also very clean and the restaurant serves great cocktails. I would definitely recommend the park to other guests. Chalets are more suitable for families than for groups of friends, would recommend a chalet to yourself if you are a couple. Personally, would also like to have a better waste management system- ie. A bin for recylable items and maybe one for compost (this is not a criticism, rather a recommendation). Feedback of stay by Nisha Naidoo 09 April 2018 The price considering location was amazing and would love to go back except that the bathroom is really Not up to standard. The thatch roof gives off a very unpleasant smell when doors are closed. The amount of trees along the river blocks off any view one could have of the river which defeats the purpose of the location on the river bank. The bed in the lounge nex to the door was terrible and woke up stiff cos u basically sleep on planks.
The bunk beds shud rather be 2 single beds alongside each other. The view of the Kruger National Park from your stand by Ansie Jacobs 17 April 2018 The view, service and friendly staff at the gate. The accommodation itself was amazing we used the lapa and that is such anamazing ambience by Liz Robbertze 19 June 2018 We loved the whole vibe of the lapa walking to overlooking the river to watch the wildlife as we sipped on our sundowners .... brilliant and the chalet was so perfectly perfect. The next morning we headed out for Kruger early and so the plan was to wash our dishes when we returned. Whilst we were away the "Dishes cleaning fairies"washed our dishes. What a wonderful and unexpected surprise THANK YOU ..... Next time all we need for a perfect stay....is SNORING Mufflers under the pillow so I cant hear hubby snoring after his relaxing day Friendly and helpful people by Frieda Botha 31 August 2018 Cleanliness but a bit dated. Washbasin cracked and plug not correct size. Bit awkward when shaving. Mirror not above basin. Pricing a bit on the high side comparing place I stay normally. For a family that wants saving, very good choice. Henk can Rooyen Rondavels by Nadine Casarin 25 September 2018 The rondavels are not as per the picture.
They are however self catering and have their own bathroom with a loo and shower. The shower had good water pressure and there was always hot water.
We were in unit 2 and it had 1 double bed and 2 single beds.
The ?basin? is a bit of a problem as it is a square bucket and there is no shelf to put it on. I washed supper dishes on the floor.
There is a friendly lady that comes in to do the cleaning every morning, but she is there before 8 which is rather ridiculous when you haven't even had breakfast yet.
Overall the rondavels are lovely and considering what you pay for them it is worth it.
We enjoyed our short stay. Location by Jean Oosthuizen 28 September 2018 Staff were good. However, to have a Lady waiting at 08h00 in the morning outside your door to clean up was not appreciated. HENK VAN ROOYEN PARK LOCATION
