Hobbiton-At-Fairewood is a welfare organisation situated just outside of Grahamstown, providing outdoor education for all sectors of the community .
We offer two dormitories, sleeping 15 guests in each on triple bunk beds. There are two teachers'/facilitator rooms each sleeping two guests. We can accommodate more people on mattresses on the floor. We provide self-catering as well as catered options.
The centre also has a survival camp teaching basic survival and Xhosa craft which is dying out for the urban Xhosa youth.
During the camps, the children are taught life skills such as social interaction in the form of team building, as well as personal development skills that might enable them to become leaders. As a core philosophy, all activities offered are voluntary and fun.
