Holhoed Overnight Accommodation shares the beauty of the Karoo with guests from all over South Africa and abroad, situated 54 km from Sutherland on the R354.

We offer a lovely self-catering cottage set away from the main homestead. The cottage consists of one bedroom with a double bed and two single beds, a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and an open-plan living area with two single beds. There is another bathroom outside with a shower and a toilet. All bedding and towels are provided, including electric blankets for those cold winter nights.

The sunny verandah overlooks the tranquil open spaces of the farm and leads onto a lovely garden with braai facilities. Breakfast and dinner can be arranged on request. The farm has no mobile reception and the cottage has no TV, making this the ultimate escape from the busy city life.

Enjoy the friendly atmosphere on this working farm, where your hosts will make sure you have a comfortable stay. Indulge in the many fruits we have growing on our farm of which includes peaches, pears, nuts, pomegranates, grapes, apples and prickly pears.

Magnificent Karoo by

The lovely, large farm house is beautifully decorated and well equipped. Our hosts, Adriaan and Michele, were most attentive and helpful. Holhoed Guest Farm is an excellent base to visit the Tankwa Karoo National Park, and to enjoy the quiet open spaces of the Karoo, with the Karoo Highlands weather. We enjoyed hiking up a nearby hill and exploring the spring vegetation that is surprisingly diverse when viewed up close. Next time we will take our mountain bikes along for some easy rides on the farm roads.



My husband & I stayed at Holhoed for 2 nights & really enjoyed our time there.
The accomodation was immaculately clean, cosy & comfortable.
Our stay was so restful & peaceful that we would have liked to stay longer. Sitting wrapped in blankets, gazing up at the star-filled night sky, in the company of a friendly, very fluffy cat was magical.
The days were spent exploring the farm in the company of a friendly very active little jack russell.
One forgets how hectic the pace of Life is in the city & this opportunity to opt out of the rat race, recharge our batteries & reconnect with each other, was very special.
