Izaak Walton Inn Hotel

Located along the Embu-Meru highway, lzaak Walton Inn is situated in a unique relaxation point on the slopes of Mount Kenya with high probability of interacting with monkeys from the nearby Njukiri Forest. The hotel serves as a perfect accommodation spot for travellers and tourists exploring various geographical and wildlife attractions in Kenya's eastern frontier.

Although the Inn was built in 1930s, it did not accept its first paying customer until 1924. The Inn was named after Izaak Walton, born in 1853 in England. He wrote the complete ?Angler', which is one of the most reprinted books to date. When Kenya gained independence, the Britons sold the establishment to the Mugo Family, who still own the hotel. The family has invested and developed the hotel to make it what it is today; a world class conference destination.

The marabou stork and the African owl, among other bird species, can be seen in the gardens. The hotel's evergreen garden provides a superb partying or relaxation environment as you watch the ice capped Mount Kenya when skies are clear.
