Joubertskraal Farm

Caravan Park & Camping Sites from R 70 (family units from R 800)

Joubertskraal Farm is located in 1500 hectares of rugged kloofs and valleys, in the Kouga Mountains. It borders the southern aspect of the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve. Visitors to the farm can hike along the various trails amongst the mountain fynbos. Other activities include horse riding, mountain biking, birding and stargazing. The Campsite consists of a basic ablution shed with a flush toilet and a hot shower. There is a beautiful old wild olive tree under which to camp and braai facilities are provided. We guarantee privacy and peace by allowing only one set of visitors at a time so guests have the place to themselves. Our ethos on Joubertskraal Farm is to restore the land to its natural state and rehabilitate damaged lands using sustainable permaculture farming principles. The majority of materials used in creating the Campsite were either recycled or found on the farm itself and the braai wood comprises alien vegetation cleared off the site. The rate includes unlimited firewood. Although the water is adequate for bathing, guests are asked to bring their own drinking water. Guests are asked to separate their waste which we will be taken to the recycling depot in St Francis Bay.The dirt road to our farm is unfortunately in poor condition and although a 4x4 is not necessary, low clearance vehicles are not recommended. It takes approximately 1.5hrs to travel the dirt road from Kareedouw, so our farm is not suitable for daily trips to and from the coast.

Nice place by

We only stayed there one night, but the owners was very nice, helpful and they made us feel right at home. The campsite itself is very primitive, but the ablution was awesome, nice to have a hot shower and a flush toilet.

a camping delight by

One of the nicest campsites we have stayed in! Beautiful setting, excellant facilities, quaintest bathroom, fab firewood and wonderful hosts.

Best Ever Stay by

This was an unforgetable stay. The most bauetiful place and every little detail thought off. If you are looking for a place full of character and where you can just rest...away from everything..look no futher. It has it all.

UNFORGETTABLE WEEKEND by

Well ! Anton and Sasha are one of the most friendliest & helpful hosts we've met in a long time. We certainly support all the positive reviews submitted by previous guests, hence I won't repeat. Despite possible revenue losses, they only accept one booking per entire camp site. What a bargain not having to share this "gem" with another crowd. Can't wait for the next visit

Farm stay by

We were phoned by the hosts the day before arrival to say that the farm cottage was available as they saw we were only camping for one night and would we like in upgrade at no charge... we decided to stay in cottage and it was delightful! A beautiful view from a big covered verandah and the inside of the cottage had beautiful views from all windows. The cottage was tastefully decorated and well equipped. An added bonus was that our hosts left a selection of organic fresh veg at no cost. There is a stunning 8km trail run behind the cottage which I did, it was breathtakingly beautiful! All in all a FANTASTC stay and we will be back! Sarah and Alex Batley
