Just three hours from Mombasa, the Kaisgau Base Camp is set amid a raw and rugged landscape. Surrounded by mountain peaks and a dense dry vegetation, the camp is located along an ancient elephant migration route between the Mkomazi National park in Tanzania and Tsavo East and West National Parks in Southern Kenya.
The Kasigau Mountain reaches a height of 1600 m and hosts three square kms of mountain cloud forest which is home to a variety of endemic plant and bird species.
The Kaisgau Base Camp offers unique opportunities for outdoor adventure. Team building, camping, low ropes courses, school and university field trips, guided nature walks and mountain biking are only a few of the activities on offer. Game drives and rock climbing in surrounding ranches and at the Tsavo National Park, are easily reachable.
Of course you could just simply relax and soak in the camps vast panoramic views across the Nyika towards Kilimanjaro. Visitors can also get involved with many community projects including conservation, water projects, visits to schools, environmental education, film shows, and arts and crafts workshops.
