Kaokoland & Kunene River is a 7-day guided camping tour. It departs from and returns to Sesfontein and travels into central Kaokoland and the Marien River Valley. Participants will be able to see the Hartman Valley, the Skeleton Coast, and the Hoanib River.
The package includes all transport as per the itinerary's routing, accommodation on a shared basis, meals as specified in the itinerary, activities and park fees as specified in the itinerary, and mineral water.
The package excludes expenses of a personal nature, i.e. laundry, telephone expenses, gratuities and other personal purchases, all drinks, personal as well as medical and evacuation insurance, and any additional activities.
DAY 1:
Departing from Palmwag Lodge to Sesfontein and Opuwo over the Sesfontein Pass. The trail continues in a westerly direction and stops for a short visit at Kaoko Otavi. Encounter various Ovahimba families.

DAY 2:
Time and again one meets Ovahimba families and the participants will have the opportunity to explore an Ovahimba village as well as a traditional hut. The participants learn about the nomadic tribe's customs and ways of life.
Overnight open camp in the region of Orupembe, a large Ovahimba settlement.
DAY 3:
We continue into the western part of Kaokoland into the Marienfluss and Hartmann Valleys. Our destination today is the Kunene River area.

DAY 4:
Today participants are indulged with a guided 4x4 sightseeing tour, a hike in the gorges and valleys of the Hartmann Valley, and a visit to an Ovahimba family in the vicinity of the camp. The Hartmann Valley is unique and offers the participants the opportunity to enjoy nature at its best.
DAY 5:
Today we embark on our return journey to Palmwag via Orange Drum. The journey takes us through the western Kaokoland to Orupembe. We traverse almost deserted contrasting landscapes ranging from desert to the Kaoko Highland.

DAY 6:
After breakfast the journey continues in a southerly direction through the beautiful Hoarusib River Valley towards the Hoanib River. With a bit of luck the desert elephants can be sighted.

DAY 7:
Break up camp and go on a game drive in search of elephants. After a short sojourn at Sesfontein, a one-time Schutztruppen outpost which functions as a lodge nowadays, the journey takes us back to Palmwag Lodge.
