This old-fashioned and comfortable country hotel comprises a pub, a lady's lounge, a restaurant, outdoor dining facilities, braai areas and 12 rooms. The hotel is 102 years old.

This is a great place for a weekend getaway with activities such as hiking, motor biking, cycling or just chilling. We are situated close to Clarens, the Golden Gate Park, Lion's Rock and Sterkfontein Dam.

Our hotel is pet friendly, but animals must be house trained and sociable. We look forward to seeing you in Kestell.

The room was clean and well equipped. The dinner and breakfast we were served was well prepared and reasonably priced. I will recommend the establishment to friends.

Great little hotel with friendly owners/ staff. Also very biker friendly, did I mention the excellant cold beers.

Lovely one-night stop-over by

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel on our way through the Free State. We arrived late and left early, after receiving a breakfast that was made custom to some strange dietary requirements - thank you!

Disgusted by

When arriving at the hotel at 20:30(driving all the way from Durban to the Free State), we were told that he had not even seen our booking and that his hotel was full and he couldn't accommodate us(Mother and daughter) . We then had tor drive all the way to Bethlehem to find some accommodation.What makes maters even worse is they/You have charged my credit card for the room. This was disgusting treatment/experience..

Old hotel steeped in history. Comfortable accommodation and home cooked dinner was most enjoyable

We did not stay at Kestell Hotel. It was disgusting. The photo tells a whole other story. First of all, there was only a shower in the room. One has to go outside the room to the toilet. I tried to call, but your offices were closed already. I found 1000x better accommodation in Betlehem for a R100 more. I will also never book through Safari.com again. I am going to try and get a refund as well. Elsa Kotze
