Modern, comfortable, practical.
Will recommend anytime. Gourmet Food by Deborah Swann 27 December 2017 I only have high praise for Kgalagadi Lodge, we spent one night there after travelling from Cape Town to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Friendly staff, lovely swimming pool, comfortable chalet and thevresieent emus and goats were so cute. BUT oh man their food us absolutely fantastic. From the venison salad to the skaap stertjies to the steak...beautifully presented and tasty. Well done guys! Comfortable stay close to Kgalagadi by Tobie Schalkwyk 06 January 2018 Clean, neat rooms with braai facilities and the most important TV channels (including sport). Restaurant with affordable menu on site for those too tired to use the braai. Holiday in the Kgalagadi by Julina Van Schelt 15 April 2018 Cosy and comfortness Practical, Efficient and Good Value for Money by Martin Van Den Heever 29 May 2018 Very friendly staff. Our unit was equipped with all the necessary amenities. The location was excellent. Great decor by Mike Thompson 30 May 2018 loved the room décor ,especially use of natural materials such as wood. Unfortunately l think they skimped on quality mattresses and ours was subsiding with a hole in the middle!!! Convenience & Comfort by Linda Muller 09 June 2018 We spent 2 nights here recently as we could not get accommodation in the Kgalagadi Park. We found the staff to be very friendly & efficient & we were most fortunte to be upgraded to a lovely 2 bedroomed unit on the hill. The view from these cottages is lovely & is very peaceful rural scene. The cottages are very well stocked for self catering & we even found a lovely coffee machine available, some olive oil & salt & pepper, The little shop is very well stocked with lovely fresh bread, groceries, some fresh fruit & veg.
We ate at the restaurant one evening. The menu is very simple & my husband enjoyed his chicken schnitzel. However I ordered pizza & the dough was so tough I could not eat it. Most disappointing & still charged for it.
I would recommend a stay here to anyone looking for clean, comfortable accommodation.
Wifi is available at the shop. Efficient starting point for the National Park by Jeroen Van Luijk 14 June 2018 The hotel is conveniently located just a few km before the Tweerivieren entry, on a dune overlooking the road. Nice sunrise!
Take care when arriving late: the reception and the restaurant close pretty early.
Two downsides: the hotel is rather new (which is OK for the rooms) and has a restaurant without ambiance. Which leads to the second point: loud music... in such a tranquile setting! Pity. Wonderful, comfortable stay with beautiful views, and so close to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park! by Altus & Griet Nel 17 July 2018 The chalets are clean and neat, spacious, with a very nice kitchen area on the stoep. We enjoyed the beautiful views. Accommodation by Hannelie Van Zyl 18 July 2018 We truly enjoyed our stay at Kgalagadi Lodge.
The accommodation was wonderful, clean, beautiful and the service was excellent. Thank you to the manager and staff at Kgalagadi Lodge. Convenient by Lesley Myburg 06 August 2018 Originally wanted 2 luxury rooms but Lodge could only give us 2 Business chalets. They are adequate for a nights stay before or after a visit to Kgalagadi. Wouldn't want to stay in them for more than one night. The room is open plan including the shower & basin (Loo is private). Room had 2 single beds, bedside tables, lamps etc. No extra blankets and when asked I was told they only had duvets. It was a very cold night but there is an aircon so at least you can warm up that way. Electric blankets or any blanket would be nice. There's a fridge & kettle in the room and they give you a pack of instant coffee, tea bags etc when you book in.
There is a stoep (verandah) with 2 chairs & table and an area where you can prep food with a sink as well. Round the corner from the chalets is a braai area
We ate at the restaurant that night and food was very good. The calamari is possibly the best I've tasted. My husband said the skaap stertjies (A Kalahari delicacy of lambs tails)are also very good. For ,Mains 3 of us opted for steaks which were also good as was the curry.
Breakfast was adequate but not too keen on the sausage choice of russian or wors.
The shop is well stocked with a choice of fresh veg & fruit, cheeses, butter etc as well as tinned goods, rice, mealie meal etc so if you've forgotten anything before entering the Park you can stock up there. There was also a freezer full of lamb & game meat. Ice & firewood too
All in all a pleasant but cold stay. We would stay at the Lodge again but would definitely book the self catering chalets on top of the dune (which we went & looked at in the morning) instead of the business chalets at the bottom. Clean, quite - lovely Place to be by Matthias Liebig 22 September 2018 The Chalet was very clean and the space is enough for 2 Persons Perfect position before entering Kgalagadi by Duncan Fletcher 08 October 2018 Once again this establishment lived up to its reputation. Very well situated with all amenities for self catering. Very clean and well worth recommending to other travellers Kgalagadi Lodge by Nathaniel Bruyns 05 November 2018 accommodation good, close to twee rivieren gate. KGALAGADI LODGE LOCATION
