What an amazing place! by

We had a fantastic stay at Klein Nektar. The attention to detail in the cottage is amazing and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. We will definitely be back. 



Klein Nektar was very nice - a lovely setting but I would definitely not go there in winter again - no electricity!!! It was freezing cold.  The fact that it is off the grid went right over my head when I read about it for some reason.  For me, personally, no electricity has no rustic charm whatsoever - it's an inconvenience - phones can't be recharged (although after 2 days with no phone Vernon kindly re-charged mine at the main house). We had to go and buy toothbrushes too because our electric ones also died.   Some may enjoy some "technology free" time but it's not for me.

We only spent one night at Klein Nektar, which was hugely disappointing, as we would have liked to stay for a week! The smallholding is picturesque, with olive trees, vines, roses and sheep, against a backdrop of dramatic mountains. The cottage itself is simple and tasteful, with a wonderful covered veranda for relaxing in the shade. The lack of electricity was no problem at all, as there was plenty of light from the solar lamps, and we kept warm beside the fire in the evening. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay!

We had a lovely weekend at Klein Nektar. The cottage is comfortable with everything you need, decorated beautifully with little extras like rusks, delicious coffee etc. that makes you feel special. The people are lovely and friendly and the location superb.
